I am living proof that it’s never too late to live the dream of being an athlete and coach…

It was my wife’s desire in 2004 to finish a marathon that re-kindled a love for sports and training. Through a full time job and taking care of two amazing kids I have been able to efficiently train and achieve some amazing goals! Highlights of my past 12 years include:
Marathons: 70 marathons with a PR in 2010 (age 44) of 3:00:36. In the years 2008-2011, I competed in approximately 10 marathons a year. I am still an active marathoner on pace to complete 6-10 marathons this year.
Triathlons: 10 Ironman finishes with a PR in 2015 of 11:21 at Ironman Arizona. In addition, I have participated Half Ironman, Olympic and Sprint triathlons with no swimming background prior to 2007 (I took lessons in Total Immersion Swimming in 2007-2009).
Swims: Since improving my swim technique in addition to triathlon participation, I regularly attend swim practices with Hopkins Masters Swimming I have participated in Open Water Swims of over 2 miles on Lake Superior (Point to LaPointe Swim- 2009-2012) and 3.1 miles on Lake Harriett (2010, 2011)
I am an ACSM certified personal trainer, a certified RRCA Running Coach who has coached beginner to 5K runners as well as group marathon training and on-line training plans. I am also a Minnesota licensed physician and dentist with Board Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (my other passion)
I have no doubt anyone can run a marathon or improve in running and endurance sports with proper training! There is no better way to do this than with a training group…You can do this!
