Celia has an extensive competitive swimming background. She competed at Division I Nationals for Purdue University in 1988. Celia is a Masters' World Champion (2014) in the women's 200m Free Relay, an individual National Champion in the 50yd butterfly (2017), 50m Backstroke (2011) and in multiple relays. Celia placed second in both the 50 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly in the 2014 Masters’ Pan Am Games. She holds NC Masters' State and USMS National relay records. She is on the FINA World Masters' Top Ten List in two separate age groups. Celia is nationally ranked in the Top Ten for her age group and continues to train and compete at the national and international levels. She has also trained numerous Ironman competitors and USMS national champions since 2011 and continues to work with all levels of Masters swimmers.
